David qualified as an aeronautical / mechanical engineer
in 2001 following a career change from the Newspaper
Printing Industry.
Started his professional engineering career designing
steel portal frame buildings and chilled cold water
systems for heavy industry, culminating in being a key
member of the project management team involved in the
construction of Monsoon Wash facility for the Mercedes
McLaren SLR at the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking.
Joined Virgin Trains under their Engineering Graduate
training scheme in 2003 and has developed his railway
career.
David's current portfolio includes: -
- Review and closer of National Incident Reports.

- Represents Virgin Trains at the ATOC National Steering
Group for the Global System for Mobile Communication
– Radio (GSM-R)
- Represents Virgin CrossCountry at the ATOC Sulphur
- Free Diesel / BioDiesel Group.
- Managing the Virgin Rail Group BioDiesel Trial.
